Image for representationA 12-year-old Hyderabad girl, who went missing on Thursday evening after she went cycling, was found dead on Friday.Sumedha Kapuria, 12, a resident of Kakatiya Nagar, Malkajgiri Neredmet, Medchal district had been missing since Thursday evening.
Unable to trace the 12-year-old, her parents approached the police, following which a missing persons complaint was filed.A joint team of the police, Disaster Management Cell of GHMC and NDRF launched a search operation.
They found her cycle in an open drain and later her body from a stormwater drain.Police said they suspect that the girl, who was captured by CCTV cameras cycling outside her house around 6-7 pm, may have fallen into the open drain filled with rainwater.The parents of the 12-year-old have been inconsolable.
Her blamed has civic authorities for their negligence and said their daughter was murdered.Opposition Congress has also criticised the ruling TRS government and municipal minister KTR for crumbling infrastructure in the state.The government claims that it spends thousands of crore but citizens are still not secure.
