Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal on Friday directed officials to draw fresh policy for containment zone as the national capital continued to report over 4,000 daily Covid-19 cases.Delhi registered 4,127 new cases of novel coronavirus on Friday, taking the tally to 2,38,828.
In the 24 hours ending Friday evening, the city-state registered 30 deaths.
On Thursday, Delhi detected 4,432 new cases of the infection.Holding a meeting to review the Covid-19 situation in Delhi on Friday, L-G Anil Baijal told the officials to 'jointly prepare a blueprint for re-strategising containment zone policy to reduce positivity and mortality rate'.The L-G said that he emphasised on aggressive IEC campaigns in vernacular languages to engage stakeholders for ensuring Covid appropriate behaviour.The meeting was attended by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Dr VK Paul, Member NITI Aayog, Dr Randeep Guleria, Director AIIMS, Dr Balram Bhargava, DG ICMR, other experts and senior officers.According to numbers issued by the Delhi government, the national capital has 32,250 active cases of Covid-19 and 2,01,671 people have recovered from the virus.
The death toll is at 4,907.On Friday, the government conducted 11,203 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests, along with 49,834 Rapid antigen tests.
So far, 24,30,629 tests have been conducted for Covid-19 in Delhi, the government said.
