NEW DELHI: Shares of LCC Infotech (down 10 per cent), Lasa Supergenerics (down 9.33 per cent), Bhushan Steel (down 8.77 per cent) and Videocon (down 7.96 per cent) cracked up to 10 per cent during Monday's trade in an otherwise positive market.Stocks such as Srikalahasthi Pipes Limited (down 7.20 per cent), BS Ltd (down 6.25 per cent), Reliance Communications (down 5.96 per cent), Vadivarhe Speciality Chemicals (down 5.31 per cent), Gemini Communication (down 5.26 per cent) and HDIL (down 5.26 per cent) declined over 5 per cent.Equity benchmarks opened in the green amid positive global cues.
Sensex rose almost 230 points, while Nifty reclaimed 10,700.However, selling in oil and metal counters cooled off bourses a bit.
The Nifty50 index was 48 points up at 10,740, while the BSE Sensex was 154 points up at 35,123 around 9:55 am (IST).Among the 51 components in the Nifty index, 37 shares were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.
Lupin, HCL Tech, YES Bank, Tata Consultancy Services and Mahindra Mahindra were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.However, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries, UPL, BPCL and GAIL were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
