Photo for representationAssam has reported 2,595 new positive cases for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and with the fresh cases, the state tally has now gone up to 1,55,453.Out of the new cases, 553 cases have been detected in Kamrup (Metro) district while 205 cases detected in Jorhat district, 199 cases in Lakhimpur district, 173 cases in Golaghat district.Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state had tested 3,575 samples for the virus on Saturday and out of which 2,595 tested positive and the positivity rate is 7.38 percent.He tweeted 2595 #COVID cases detected today out of 35.80.75 percent Covid-19 patients of the state have recovered so far.
On the other hand, eight more Covid-19 patients have succumbed to the deadly virus in the state in the past 24 hours taking the state death toll to 548.In Mizoram, 30 people including 17 Assam Rifles personnel have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the state tally to 1,578.Out of the 30 new cases, 20 cases were reported from Lunglei district, 4 each from Kolasib and Lawngtlai districts, one each from Aizawl and Mamit districts.
