Department of State spokesperson, Matthew Miller, has called on American aid partners to ensure that processes are in place to ensure assistance reaches those in need in Afghanistan.He said robust monitoring and reporting by organizations was critical & especially in unstable and challenging environments.&When there is cause for concern related to the delivery of assistance, we have plans and protocols in place to respond.
We will continue to monitor all of our assistance programs and seek to mitigate the risk that U.S.
aid could inadvertently benefit the Taliban (Islamic Emirate) or be diverted to unintended recipients,& Miller told reporters.This statement follows a report by the U.S.
Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) accusing the Islamic Emirate of interfering in aid provided by the U.S.
