The United States government is actively working to secure the release of American nationals detained in Afghanistan, US State Department'sspokesperson Mathew Miller said on Monday.Miller told reporters during a press conference that the US is concerned about the well-being of the detainees.&We are concerned about the well-being of Americans detained in Afghanistan…we are actively working for their release and will continue to do so,& Miller said.The Islamic Emirate confirms that two Americans are detained in Afghanistan.
Its spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, says that they have been detained for violating the laws of the country.&We have talked to them (US) about this, but legal steps must be taken.
