The Corps Commander meet between Indian and Chinese armies on Monday in Moldo on the Chinese side will for the first time have two Lt Generals, two Major Generals and a Joint Secretary from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in the Indian delegation.Headed by Lt Gen Harinder Singh, Commander of the Leh based 14 Corps, the Indian delegation will also have Lt Gen PGK Menon from the Army HQ in Delhi.Also, a Major General, part of a formation added in Ladakh, will be another member of the Indian delegation.

Deepam Seth, Inspector General Indo Tibetan Border Police in Leh, and four Brigadiers are other members of the Indian delegation.In a first, the talks scheduled for Monday will have two representatives from New Delhi, sources said.

Naveen Srivastava, Joint Secretary handling East Asia in the Ministry of External Affairs, will be attending the talks.MEA Joint Secretary Navin Srivastava, the ministry's point man on East Asia affairs, has also been a part of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on India-China border affairs.While the core team will be headed by Lt Gen Harinder Singh, 14 Corps Commander, the additions from Delhi are significant.

The representatives from New Delhi have been added to strengthen India’s negotiating power, sources added.So far, five rounds of talks at the Corps Commander level have taken place since June 6 to resolve the military tussle, which has resulted in a standoff in Ladakh since early May.Sources say India’s stand won’t be restricted to friction points but will include entire stretch from north to south.Depsang, which till now was not part of discussions in the military talks, is likely to be raised by India on the table on Monday.The big focus, however, will remain on the north and south bank of Pangong.Four new faceoff points have emerged on the north and south bank of the lake where soldiers are reportedly separated by a few metres.

These are Rechen La, Rezang La and Spangur Gap on the south and areas between Finger 4 and 3 on the north.
