NEW DELHI: Shares of NCC (up 8.69 per cent), Capital Trust (up 8.64 per cent) and Nitco (up 8.50 per cent) finished Thursday's session surging over 8 per cent on NSE. Stocks such as Just Dial (up 7.73 per cent), Kaveri Seed Company (up 7.62 per cent), Universal Cables (up 7.20 per cent), MEP Infrastructure Developers (up 6.23 per cent) and Astral Poly Technik (up 6.20 per cent) clocked up gains of over 6 per cent. Domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty settled in the positive zone on gains in IT, bank, financial, telecom, pharma and metal stocks amid mixed global cues. The Sensex surged 318 points, or 0.93 per cent, to finish at 34,663, while Nifty50 climbed 84 points, or 0.80 per cent to rest at 10,514. In the Nifty pack, 34 stocks advanced and 16 declined, while in Sensex 24 remained in the green and 7 in the red. Barring Nifty Auto and realty, all sectors closed with gains on Thursday, with Nifty IT at the top. Bharti Airtel, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Axis Bank, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel emerged as the top gainers in the Nifty index on Thursday. On the contrary, Tata Motors, GAIL, ONGC, Grasim, HPCL and Bajaj Auto remained the top losers in the index. Britannia Industries, DCM Financial Services, GSS Infotech, Infosys, KPIT Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services and Seamec touched 52-week highs on NSE on Thursday.
